Q. Are there physical requirements that must be met in order for me to participate in activities at a Senior Center?
A. Yes. Participants must be physically able to perform basic functions such as using the restroom and feeding themselves. Persons needing adult day care service can call the Day Break Adult Day Care center at 252-338-4375.
Q. How do I sign up for home-delivered meals?
A. The Meals on Wheels program provides meals delivered to homes of homebound senior adults. For more information on this program, call the Albemarle Commission at 252-426-5753, ext. 231, or contact Stacy Joseph at the Currituck Senior Center, phone 252-232-3505.
Q. Can the Senior Center arrange for someone to clean my house and cook meals for me?
A. No. Personal services are not provided by the Senior Center.
Q. I believe I may be the victim of a scam. Where can I go for help?
A. People who think they may have been taken advantage of can contact any of the following agencies: Legal Aid, 800-682-4594; Better Business Bureau, 252-338-3992; or Currituck Department of Social Services, 252-232-3083.
