Human Resources

The Human Resources Department provides personnel administration consistent with carrying out County policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources. Such personnel components as recruitment, selection, position clarification, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and safety are services provided by the Human Resources Department.

What This Department Does

  • Assists County departments in the effective recruitment, selection, retention, development, and utilization of all County employees
  • Processes job applications and personnel actions
  • Interprets personnel policies and procedures
  • Promotes and encourages a safe, healthy, productive, and suitable work environment for all County employees
  • Administers employee benefits, such as the health care benefit plan and the retirement plan
  • Handles employee complaints and grievances not resolved through chain of command pursuant to the Personnel Policy
  • Coordinates the performance appraisal process
  • Files employee or applicant ADA Title I claims/grievances
